JIS Training Grounds Opening, Jakarta Government and DPRD Hold Exhibition Match

Marking the opening of Jakarta International Stadion's training ground to the public, Jakarta Government held an exhibition match, in which soccer team from Jakarta Government against soccer team from Jakarta Council (DPRD) on Thursday (10/28) night.

"Today, we are grateful for holding opening match as requirement of FIFA standard stadium facility. With these two training grounds, then JIS is officially a FIFA standard field, and the first match will be Jakarta Government against DPRD," said Governor Anies before the match started, as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

The exhibition match between ranks of Jakarta Government against Jakarta DPRD is a form of cooperation between Executive and Legislative bodies in planning the establishment of FIFA standard stadium.

"Why is the first match between Jakarta Government and DPRD? Because this stadium is the result of cooperation of the two. This is the collaboration, Jakpro is working on the project, but Jakarta Government and DPRD are working on it as a program. The approval is the key, thus we can carry out this historic project," he stated.

JIS Stadium, he assessed, is a not only designed for the current generation and in the near future, but also for generations in the future. Because the stadium has green building standard with platinum level or the highest standard.

Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) received score of 63 greenship platinum level for design and building from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) certification body. GBCI is a member of the World Green Building Council (WGBC) based in Toronto, Canada, consisting of 102 countries around the world.

"I underlined, when we first designed this stadium, we didn't imagine the year 2021 or 2022, but 2041-2061. We want the next generation to come to this stadium and look back then says, thank God, the generation of the founders of this stadium has thought of building with future perspective," he conveyed.

“A building with platinum level environmentally friendly concept. Why? We want to convey a message that Jakarta is ready to become an environmentally friendly city. Everything that is built becomes a symbol of that," he added.

After exhibition match between the soccer team from Jakarta Government and DPRD, there will be an exhibition match between Persija Legend and Indonesia All Star. With inaugural matches between various communities at the JIS training grounds, it indicates that JIS is a public-owned international standard stadium that needs to be maintained and cared for by all parties as one of city's icons as well as unifying the nation.
