88,544 Children Aged 6-11 Years in North Jakarta Have Been Vaccinated Against COVID-19

North Jakarta Health Sub-agency continued to intensify COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years. As of January 2, 2022, as many as 88,544 children aged 6-11 years or 51.61 percent of total target 171,579 people had been injected with first dose vaccine.

North Jakarta Health Sub-agency Disease Prevention and Control Section (P2P) Section Head, Arief Wahyudi conveyed, vaccination was expected to provide more protection for children from exposure of COVID-19. Moreover, limited face-to-face learning (PTM) has been carried out since yesterday.

"We continue to intensify vaccination by providing door-to-door vaccination service at schools," he stated, Tuesday (1/4).

Regarding PTM implementation at schools, he appealed parents or guardians of students to always remind their children to comply with health protocols by wearing mask, maintaining safe distance, washing hands, and avoiding crowds.

"Hopefully, there will be no school cluster through vaccination and discipline to comply with health protocols," he mentioned.

COVID-19 vaccination for targeted residents aged 12 years to elderly for the first dose has reached 1,861,570 people or 133.03 percent of target 1,399,380 people.

"For the second dose, it has reached 1,505,839 people or 107.61 percent of target 1,399,380," he said.
