400 Children Vaccinated Today in Two Schools in Matraman

Total 400 children aged 6-11 years were targeted to be vaccinated against COVID-19 today in two different locations in Matraman Sub-district, East Jakarta. This vaccination activity was carried out through collaboration between sub-district, health center, and TNI AD (Indonesian army) education and health center (Pusdikkes).

This vaccination is carried out to accelerate vaccination program for children aged 6-11 years

Matraman Sub-district Deputy Head, Muhammad Husnul Fauzi said, door-to-door vaccination service was carried out at SDIT Permata Bunda on Jl. Kramat Asem Utan Kayu Selatan (UKS) and SD Marsudirini I on Jl. Matraman Raya, Palmeriam.

"Vaccination at SDIT Permata Bunda served 180 children, while 320 children at SD Marsudirini. We use Sinovac vaccines," he explained, Tuesday (1/4).

For vaccination service at SDIT Permata Bunda, it involved health workers from Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village Health Center. While at SD Marsudirini, it involved health workers from Matraman Sub-district Health Center and Pusdikkes TNI AD.

"This vaccination is carried out to accelerate vaccination program for children aged 6-11 years," he added.

Matraman Sub-district Secretary, Kelik Sutanto mentioned, his side targeted to vaccinate 12,391 students aged 6-11 years in 40 private and public elementary schools. As many as 7,800 children have been vaccinated, while the other 4,591 children haven't. This means child vaccination rate in the region only reaches about 63 percent.

"As of last Monday, child vaccination rate has reached 63 percent of total target 12,391 children. Hopefully, if all students are vaccinated today, the figure can increase to 70 percent," he conveyed.
