Latest Data on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of January 10, 2022

Jakarta Government continues to control COVID-19 pandemic, which recently has seen a significant increase in number of cases. Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia explained, based on latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, number of active cases in Jakarta today rose to 255 cases, thus total active cases as of today reached 2,129 cases (people who are still in treatment/isolation).

"It should be underlined that 1,603 people from active cases are foreign travelers. While new positive cases based on PCR test results as of today increased by 360 people thus it reached 867,662 cases in total, where 259 of them are people who have traveled abroad," she said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

In addition, she also urged residents to be aware of Omicron transmission which is now increasing in Jakarta. As many as 86 percent or 350 of 407 infected people are from abroad, while the other 57 are cases from local transmission.

Meanwhile, 3T is still intensified and COVID-19 vaccination is also ongoing with a wider scope. Data from Jakarta Health Agency mentioned that from total 11,523 PCR specimens which carried out to diagnose new case resulted 360 positive and 10,932 negative cases.

Antigen test was also carried out today on 42,277 people with 31 positive and 42,246 negative results. Please note that positive antigen results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all of them were reconfirmed by PCR.

On the other hand, WHO test targets 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week. "This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 89,855 people were tested using PCR. While number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 744,371 per million population," she added.

From total positive cases, 851,944 people recovered with recovery rate of 98.2% and 13,589 people died with mortality rate of 1.6%. While mortality rate in Indonesia reached 3.4%.

Positivity rate in Jakarta in the past week reached 2.2%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 11%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage should be no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, vaccination process is still continued. First dose vaccines had been given to 11,968,170 people (118.7%) with proportion 70% of them were residents with Jakarta ID card and 30% residents with non-Jakarta ID card. From that amount, 5,688 people had been injected with first dose vaccines today.

The second dose vaccines had been given to 9,337,035 people (92.6%) with proportion 71% of them were residents with Jakarta ID card and 29% residents with non-Jakarta ID card. From that amount, 727 people had been injected with second dose vaccines today.

Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanction for anyone who don't wear mask and violate health protocols, and intensifies guest book data collection, as well as other forms of PPKM violations, such as in restaurants, business places, and industrial places. The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.

Based on daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on January 9, 2022, Satpol PP had conducted mask operation and collected fine Rp 1,050,000. Hopefully, all residents can be more disciplined and participated in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

Jakarta Government advised people who want to be vaccinated to go directly to vaccination site. In faster way, people can register online through JAKI app or corona.jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi. By registering online, people can choose time and place of vaccination, as well as conduct online health pre-screening test.

Vaccination sites can be checked through google maps app. Only by writing 'vaksin COVID-19', people can get information about vaccination site locations and how to get there.

Jakarta Provincial Government is still opening opportunity for residents who want to provide assistance to the others who affected by COVID-19 through Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) Program. Residents can provide assistance in form of staple food, ready meals, or funds. Detailed information regarding KSBB can be accessed via site corona.jakarta.go.id/kolaborasi.
