Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of January 9

It should be underlined that 1,415 people from the number of active cases are foreign travelers

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of January 9.

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, the number of active cases in Jakarta today increased by 281 cases, bringing the number of active cases to 1,874 (people who are still being treated/isolated).

"It should be underlined that 1,415 people from the number of active cases are foreign travelers. As for new positive cases based on the results of the PCR test today increased by 393 people, bringing a total of 867,302 cases, of which 294 were foreign travelers," she explained, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Sunday (1/9).

She furthered the WHO test target is 1,000 people tested by PCR per million populations per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is a minimum of 10,645 people tested per week. "This target has been surpassed by Jakarta for some time. The number of people tested last week has reached 88,084, while 743,310 people have undergone the PCR tests," she added.

Of these cases, 851,839 people were cured with a cure rate of 98.2% and 13,589 people died with a world with a death rate of 1.6%, while Indonesia's death rate was 3.4%. The positivity rate in the last week in Jakarta was 2%, while Indonesia was 11%. WHO also set a standard percentage of positive cases of no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination process is still ongoing. The total vaccination dose 1 was currently 11,962,482 people (118.6%), with a proportion of 70% being residents of Jakarta and 30% were non-residents of Jakarta. Then the number of people being vaccinated in a 1-day dose as many as 8,370 people. As for the total vaccination dose 2 now reached 9,336,308 people (92.6%), with a proportion of 71% being residents of Jakarta and 29% were non-residents of Jakarta. The number of people being vaccinated in a 2-day dose as many as 1,711 people.

Based on the daily reports on January 8, there had been a total fine of Rp 800,000 from the raid results during PPKM Level 2 period against residents without masks, restaurants, food stalls, and cafes, as well as in offices, workplaces, and places of business.

To get vaccine, residents can go to the vaccination site. However, to speed up vaccination, they must register online via JAKI app or corona.jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi.
