Thousand Islands Sub-district PMI Head, Natsir Sabara conveyed, mangrove seedlings planting will involved three pillars apparatuses and community.
"Mangrove seedlings planting is carried out on Monday, January 10, 2021. We want to encourage PMI members and volunteers not only to care about social and humanitarian issues, but also environment by planting these mangrove seedlings," he said in written statement quoted by editorial team on Tuesday (1/11).
City Park and Forestry Agency Plants 2,500 Mangrove TreesAccording to him, mangrove trees were planted not only to make the area greener, but also to protect beaches from abrasion and reduce impacts of climate change.
"We get the seedlings from Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Agency's Marine Cultivation and Conservation Center Technical Implementation Unit," he informed.
Pari Island Urban Village Acting Head (Plt), Muhammad Ardian appreciated Thousand Islands PMI members and volunteers for their participation in taking care of the environment, especially in maintaining beauty of the beach and preventing coastal abrasion.
"We welcome this mangrove planting activity. Moreover, mangrove planting in Bintang Beach as one of tourist destinations on Pari Island," he stated.
