187 Houses Belonging to Underprivileged Residents will Be Renovated This Year

This year, total 187 houses with uninhabitable conditions belonging to underprivileged residents will be renovated by East Jakarta Baznas Bazis.

Funds used to renovate houses are from muzakki who donated for the poor

East Jakarta Baznas Bazis Coordinator, Eka Napisah conveyed, before renovating those houses, her side would conduct survey of each house that needed renovation. It was done to ensure whether the house could be renovated according to provisions or not.

Her side also provided claim form for Bedah Rumah (house renovation) beneficiaries whose house damaged. Claim could be submitted to East Jakarta Baznas Bazis within one month of placement.

"Funds used to renovate houses are from muzakki who donated for the poor," he said, Friday (1/14).

She mentioned that zakat, infaq, and sodaqoh (ZIS) funds collected in 2021 reached Rp 41,326,562,701 or around 101.74 percent from total target Rp 40,631,725,000.

"ZIS obtained from the community will be managed and returned to the community in form of social activities, one of which is house renovation program," she explained.
