Deputy Governor Hopes Jakarta-BAZNAS to Improve Collaboration for Quality Young Generation

Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria, represented Jakarta Governor to attend the Jakarta BAZNAS (BAZIS)'s 53rd Anniversary, at the Jakarta International Velodrome, East Jakarta, on Thursday (12/9). He then symbolically handed over assistance for the Jakarta Future Student Scholarship Program (MDJ), as well as prizes for winners of the Jakarta Business Entrepreneur Empowerment (Jakbee) Social Innovation Award and Jakbee Student Inspiration 2021 competitions.

Their creativity and innovation became the hope for the birth of new solutions to the problems faced by the nation and the state."Alhamdulillah, today, we also give the MDJ Student Scholarship aid, as well as the prizes for the winners of the Jakbee Social Innovation and Jakbee Student Inspiration 2021 Competitions with a total assistance of Rp 20,622,000,000 for 3437 students," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He also appreciated the recipients of the MDJ Student Scholarship Assistance, and hoped that they could be used wisely to improve competence in facing the era of global competition.

Jakarta Baznas Bazis' Distribution and Utilization Vice Chair II, Saat Suharto Amjad sent his appreciation to Jakartans for their 53-years trust in Jakarta BAZNAS (BAZIS).
"Alhamdulillah, the trust is increasing day by day and today one of our part is to give accountability to the community, (namely) the programs that we have done. And what we are doing today is Jakarta Smart program, Jakarta Future program," he said.
He added, the MDJ Student Scholarship Assistance program was an aid for students who could not afford it and complemented social security in Jakarta.
"It's amazing that there are so many in Jakarta, such as KJMU for students who have achievements, there is also Jakarta scholarship foundation, BAZNAS (BAZIS) complements for students who can't afford it. This sends a message that all children in Jakarta can achieve their goals," he explained.
As for the information, JakBee Pelajar Inspirasi is a program to develop an entrepreneurial spirit among students. Jakbee Social Innovation Award 2021 itself is held to create an innovation ecosystem and give awards to young innovators. This year, the focus is on collecting and rewarding innovations that have worked and have benefited the community.
Awards are given in the categories:
- Early Stage, a new social business innovation that is less than 1 year and has the potential to be developed thus it can continue and provide a wider social impact;
- Growth, Social business innovation that has been running for 1 to 3 years and already has a social impact and has the potential to be developed to provide a greater social impact
As for the MDJ Student Scholarship is a Jakarta Smart Program in the form of providing tuition assistance for poor students in Jakarta but have not received a scholarship from any institution which was launched in 2019.
