Bus Stop Demolished, Locals Complained

Affected by drain normalization project, Slamet Riyadi Bus Stop on Jalan Matraman Raya, East Jakarta, was demolished by local Water Management Public Works Sub-Department. As a result, the locals are complaining because there is no place to wait for public transport.

We’ve coordinated with Transportation Sub-Department before demolishing the bus stop. We have instructed the contractor to re-build the bus stop if the project is completed

Responding this, Head of Flood Control Facilities and Infrastructures Section for East Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Supriyatni, explained that the bus stop demolition has been coordinated with East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department. Later, the bus stop will be re-built if the drain normalization project finished.

“We’ve coordinated with Transportation Sub-Department before demolishing the bus stop. We have instructed the contractor to re-build the bus stop if the project is completed,” she stated, Thursday (12/4).

Pesanggrahan River Normalization Project Site Fenced

From beritajakarta.com observations in the location, the bus stop’s roof and frame in the size of 2x3.5 meters are left sitting on the excavation soil. The drain is dredged for one meter wide, 1.5 meters deep, and 500 meters long. This project is targeted to finish on upcoming December 10.
