Some 20 personnel under the Jatinegara Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Task Force have started dredging up mud from the one-kilometer-long water channel, which is located in RW 04 Cipinang Muara Urban Village, East Jakarta.
Jatinegara Sub-district SDA Task Force Coordinator, Tamrizal said, the dredging is focused on channels along Jalan Mulia Jaya, Jalan BB, and Jalan Elok I which stretches from RT 10, 09, 08, 07, 06, 05, 13 and 14.

According to him, those channels has dimensions varying between 60x100 centimeters and 80x80 centimeters. The thickness of the mud in the channel reaches 30 to 50 centimeters.
"It has been ongoing since two weeks ago and is targeted to be completed in early February," he concluded.
