20 SDA Personnel Dredge Channels in Jatinegara Viaduct Park

Total 20 Water Resources (SDA) Task Force personnel have been deployed to dredge water channels around Jatinegara Viaduct Park and connecting (Phb) channel in front of East Jakarta District Attorney's Office, on Friday (1/21).

Dredging work began since Wednesday (1/19) and targeted to be completed in the next two months

The channels with depth 150 centimeters and width 1 meter are dredged using hoes, shovels, spading forks (cangkrang), dustpans, and sacks.

In order to dredge the channels, they entered crossing channel with diameter 80 centimeters that crosses from Jatinegara Viaduct Park to Prumpung Phb Channel.

Jatinegara SDA Task Force Coordinator, Taman mentioned, dredging work that has been carried out since Wednesday (1/19) is targeted to be completed in the next two months.

According to him, it would take a long time to dredge the channel because mud thickness reached 120 centimeters from total channel's depth of 150 centimeters.

"Jatinegara Viaduct Park Phb Channel has depth of 150 centimeters and we have dredged as long as 1,250 meters. Parts of the channel surround the Viaduct Park and the others are in front of the East Jakarta District Attorney's Office," he explained.  

Besides dredging the channels, his side is also cleaning the crossing channel as long as 60 meters with diameter 80 centimeters that connects the channel in Viaduct Park and Plumpung Phb Channel.
