13 Chinese Temples in North Jakarta Guarded by 60 Satpol PP Personnel

The North Jakarta Satpol PP, deployed 60 personnel to monitor and secure Chinese New Year celebrations in 13 Chinese temples across four sub-districts in North Jakarta.

We encourage people who celebrate Chinese New Year to always comply with health protocols

North Jakarta Satpol PP's Investigation and Enforcement Section Head, Purnama stated, personnel not only maintain order and security during the Chinese New Year celebrations, but they also monitor health protocols implementation.

"We encourage people who celebrate Chinese New Year to always comply with health protocols. Our officers will also monitor the compliance on the locations," he asserted, Tuesday (2/1).

South Jakarta Residents Urged to Celebrate Chinese New Year Simply

Therefore, he expected that people could understand when officers on the field reprimanded those who didn't comply with health protocols, such as not wearing mask and crowding during celebrations.

Personnel were deployed to monitor 13 Chinese temples that were estimated to be potentially crowded, such as in Vihara Theravada in Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village, Kelapa Gading; Vihara Bahtera Bhakti Pademangan and Vihara Satya Dharma on Jalan Pluit Barat Raya, Penjaringan.

"We hope this year's Chinese New Year celebration will be conducive, although it is held in a simple manner and we can overcome the pandemic," he conveyed.
