Strict Health Protocols for Tourists in Seribu Islands Tomorrow

Seribu Islands Satpol PP Head, Rahmat Effendi Lubis is about to implement strict health protocols for tourists in Seribu Islands during the Imlek (Chinese New Year) holiday, which falls on Tuesday (2/1) tomorrow.

"From two officers, we will add them to six at every arrival pier. It aims to anticipate crowds," he expressed, Monday (1/31).

He said those arrival piers in question were Untung Jawa Island, Tidung Island, Pari Island, Lancang Island, Harapan Island, Kelapa Island, Pramuka Island, and Sebira Island piers.

"Strict surveillance for tourists includes implementation of health protocols to wear masks correctly, wash hands where available, and show proof of vaccines via the PeduliLindungi application," he asserted.

As for surveillance at the arrival pier, he has collaborated with the Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Sub-agency, army/police, Transportation Agency, health team, and tourism awareness groups (pokdarwis).

"We'll also send officers to patrol using a loudspeaker on the beaches to avoid crowds," he added.

Seribu Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency Head, Puji Astuti added, to maximize it, he has also coordinated with travel and homestay managers.

"We want them to warn tourists or their guests to always comply with the health protocol while traveling in Seribu Islands," he stated.
