Jakarta Again Kicks Off 2022 Lunar New Year

The Jakarta administration is again holding the 2022 Jakarta Lunar New Year with the theme 'Unity in the Year of the Tiger' in several corners of the capital, which falls on February 1-5.

This year's Jakarta Lunar New Year celebration is a celebration of unity and diversity

"This year's Jakarta Lunar New Year celebration is a celebration of unity and diversity. We must maintain the diversity that exists in Jakarta by continuing to echo the spirit of unity. Hope it can be done while maintaining health protocols," Mental and Spiritual Education Bureau Acting Head, Aceng Zaini, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Wednesday (2/2).

He added if the Covid-19 situation in Jakarta was getting worse, adjustments would be made to online activities. Here is the series of Jakarta Lunar New Year 2022:

1. Jakarta Lantern Festival: February 1-15, Taman Fatahillah Kota Tua and spread over 5 cities and 1 administrative district

2. Governor's Visit to the House of Worship: February 1

3. Chinatown Tour: February 5,6,12,13, visiting landmarks that have Chinese cultural treasures in Jakarta, such as Chandra Naya Building, Pantjoran Tea House, Jin De Yuan Temple, Santa de Maria Church, Vihara Toasebio, Petak Sembilan, and Gang Gloria

4. Jakarta Imlekan 2022 show: February 11-13, at 4 to 6 PM, Taman Fatahillah Kota Tua, includes Chinese cultural performances, such as Barongsai attractions, as well as music and dance arts
