Reaching 96.45 Percent, JIS Final Completion Accelerated

Entering the 127th week, the construction progress of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) has reached 96.45 percent.

The most important thing is we focus on completing this project on time

Its construction experienced a positive deviation of 1.8 percent from the initial target of 94.8 percent.

JIS Project Manager, Arry Wibowo said acceleration was continuing for some finishing work, ranging from architecture, interior, installation of tribune seats and assembly of the open and closed roof truss system along with the engine.

JIS Construction Hits 95.88 Percent

"The work is still on the track so far. We have a positive deviation of 1.8 percent already reaching the current 96.45 in early February 2022," he stated, Sunday (2/13).

Related with the soft launching, it would start with the International Youth Championship (IYC) tournament yet its schedule is still under adjustment stage considering the spike Covid-19 cases in Jakarta and the invited guest club countries are still high.

"The most important thing is to finish on time, precisely in the upcoming March 2022," he stressed.

As for the information, JIS is one of the largest stadiums in Indonesia. Even, based on the British media report Daily Mail on February 20, 2021, it was included in the 10 grandest stadiums in the world.

It is on the 10th list after Miami Freedom Park, Lusail Iconic, Bramley-Moore Dock, Camp Nou, Santiago Bernabeu, New Feyenoord, Della Roma, New San Siro, and Grand Stade de Casablanca.

Not only that, it is also the only stadium building that has obtained green building certification or platinum level certification in Design Recognition.

He added green building is not just a building concept, but also changes the mindset and behavior patterns of the surrounding community.

"JIS will become a symbol of sustainable development in Indonesia and a catalyst for urban regeneration," he stated.
