It should be noted that booster vaccines have many benefits, including maintaining long-term public health, strengthening health due to a tendency to decrease the number of antibodies three months after vaccination, preventing death and symptoms severity when exposed to COVID-19, and fulfilling the right to access vaccines to protect themselves and the community.
COVID-19 booster shot can be the same (homologous vaccination) or different from the primary vaccine (heterologous vaccination).
It can be carried out after the recipient has been fully vaccinated at least 3 months in advance. For COVID-19 survivors with mild/moderate symptoms, it is given 1 month after recovery.
For COVID-19 survivors with severe symptoms, the booster is given 3 months after recovery. Further information regarding booster vaccination can be accessed via the JAKI application, Jakarta Health Agency's social media, and other social media belonging to the Jakarta Government.
