Latest Data on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of March 14, 2022

The Jakarta Government continues to control the COVID-19 pandemic, which recently has seen a significant increase in the number of cases.

In the past week, 163,948 people were tested using PCR

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia explained, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, the number of active cases in Jakarta today declined by 2,817  cases, thus total active cases as of today reached 19,652 cases (people who are still in treatment/isolation).

"People should be aware of Omicron variant transmission which is on the rise in Jakarta. While COVID-19 vaccination is still proceeding with a broader scope, 3T should be intensified," she said according to a press release issued by Jakarta PPID on Monday (3/14).

Data from Jakarta Health Agency mentioned that from a total of 18,677 PCR specimens, 16,622 people had been tested today to diagnose new cases which resulted in 1,307 positive and 15,315 negative cases.

Antigen test was also carried out today on 21,595 people with 887 positive and 20,714 negative results. Please note that positive antigen results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all of them were reconfirmed by PCR.

From total positive cases, 1,184,667 people recovered with a recovery rate of 97.2% and 14,988 people died with a mortality rate of 1.2%. While the mortality rate in Indonesia reached 2.6%.

On the other hand, the WHO test targets 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week.

"This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 163,948 people were tested using PCR. While the number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 950,167 per million population," she added.

The positivity rate in Jakarta in the past week reached 11.5%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 12.1%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage should be no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination program is continued. First dose vaccines had been given to 12,428,514 people (123.3%) with a proportion of 70.1% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 29.9% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. From that amount, 2,849 people had been injected with first dose vaccines today.

The second dose vaccines had been given to 10,479,365 people (103.9%) with a proportion of 73% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 27% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. Of that amount, 13,801 people had been injected with second dose vaccines today.

The third dose (booster) vaccine had been given to 1,644,457 people as of today. Of that amount, 4,364 people had been injected with third dose vaccines today.

The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.

The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license. Hopefully, all residents can be more disciplined and participated in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

Jakarta Government advised people who want to be vaccinated to go directly to the vaccination site. In a faster way, people can register online through the JAKI app or corona.Jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi. By registering online, people can choose the time and place of vaccination, as well as to conduct online health pre-screening tests.

Vaccination sites can be checked through the google maps app. Only by writing 'vaksin COVID-19', people can get information about vaccination site locations and how to get there.

Jakarta Provincial Government is still opening opportunities for residents who want to assist the others affected by COVID-19 through the Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) Program. Residents can assist in form of staple food, ready meals, or funds. Detailed information regarding KSBB can be accessed via the site https://corona.jakarta.go.id/kolaborasi.
