Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of March 18

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of March 18.

The number of people tested last week has reached 134,905

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, the number of active cases in Jakarta today decreased by 1,375 cases, bringing the number of active cases to 14,524 (people who are still being treated/isolated).

"Meanwhile, 3T efforts continue to be intensified, in addition to the COVID-19 vaccination which is also still ongoing with a wider scope," she expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Friday (3/18).

Based on the latest data, the PCR tests had been carried out on 19,700 specimens. 17,927 of them were to diagnose new cases with 1,516 positive and 16,411 negative results. In addition, an antigen test was also held today, where 24,202  were tested, with 838 positive results and 23,364 negative results.

She furthered the WHO test target is 1,000 people tested by PCR per million populations per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is a minimum of 10,645 people tested per week.

"This target has been surpassed by Jakarta for some time. The number of people tested last week has reached 134,905, while 957,415 people have undergone the PCR tests," she added.

Of these cases, 1,196,098  people have been cured with a cure rate of 97.6%, and 15,061  people died with a world with a death rate of 1.2%, while Indonesia's death rate was 2.6%. The positivity rate in the last week in Jakarta was 8.6%, while in Indonesia was 12%. WHO also set a standard percentage of positive cases of no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination process is still ongoing. The total vaccination dose 1 was currently 12,442,587 people (123.4%), with a proportion of 70.1% was residents of Jakarta and 29.9% were non-residents of Jakarta. Then the number of people being vaccinated in a 1-day dose is as many as 2,736 people. The total vaccination dose 2 now reached 10,496,801 people (104.1%), with a proportion of 73% was residents of Jakarta and 27% were non-residents of Jakarta. The number of people being vaccinated on the 2-day dose was 5,502 people.

As for the third dose (booster) vaccination was also carried out. The updated total third dose was 1,804,974 people and the number of people who get vaccinated with the 3-day dose was 49,391 people.

Aside that, Jakarta Satpol PP continues to intensify the health protocol monitoring during PPKM Level 2 in restaurants, business places, and industrial places. The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.

Based on the daily reports on March 17, there had been a total fine of Rp 2,350,000 from the raid results during PPKM Level 2 period against residents without masks. In addition, one office and one place to eat and drink are temporarily suspended.
