The Jakarta Bina Marga Agency will install 1,192 street lights (PJU) in 25 roads in Jakarta this year.

PJU construction is adjusted to Regional Strategic Activity (KSD)

Its installation was carried out to support the implementation of sidewalk arrangement programs in Kebayoran Baru, Pecenongan, and Jalan Proklamasi-Jalan Penataran.

It was also prioritized on several sidewalks that had been arranged but the existing PJUs did not meet the standards of the Minister of Transportation Regulation (Permenhub) No. 27/2018 on Public Street Lighting.

Jakarta Bina Marga Agency's Street Lighting and Public Facility (PJSU) Division Head Syamsul Bakhri informed that 479 out of 1,192 PJUs would be installed in Central Jakarta, 78 PJUs in North Jakarta, 124 PJUs in East Jakarta, 105 PJUs in West Jakarta, and 308 PJUs in South Jakarta.

"PJU installation is adjusted to Regional Strategic Activity (KSD) which consists of arranging 3 areas this year and sidewalks with non-standard street lights," he mentioned, Thursday (3/24).

Those PJUs had a height ranging from 9-10 meters with a distance between poles of 35-40 meters.

The existing lights with octagonal or hexagonal shapes would be replaced with round tapper poles. Besides, they would be equipped with ornaments to the city's aesthetics.

"We have planned it since September 2021. Then finishing the administration in January 2022. The execution is in February 2022 and is currently underway," he stated.
