Three Cubic Meters of Waste Transported from Cincin Reservoir

The Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency's Water Body Cleaning Unit keeps maintaining the cleanliness of reservoirs and rivers in Jakarta. In Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, as many as 217 PJLP personnel have been alerted in 93 locations, including Cincin Reservoir, Papanggo Urban Village.

Previously, we immediately disposed of the waste. But now, we sort it out first

Jakarta LH Agency's Water Body Unit Head Yayat Supriyatna said the supporting equipment was also deployed to the location, such as floating docks, manual boat, and trash collector machine boat.

"Every day, waste transported from the reservoir reaches 3-4 cubic meters. When it rains, it can reach 6-7 cubic meters because the waste is washed away by water flow around the reservoir," he explained, Thursday (3/24).

Overall, the volume of waste taken from reservoirs and rivers in Jakarta for disposal to the Bantar Gebang had decreased from 725 to 425 tons after sorting.

"Previously, we immediately disposed of the waste. But now, we sort it out first. Waste that has economic value can be utilized and managed by PJLP personnel," he stated.
