Raid Against Street Vendors in Monas Tightened

Raid against street vendors in Monas area keep being intensified by 30 joint personnel of Jakarta Satpol PP, army and police. Tens of joint personnel back sweeping the recreational site which is an icon of the capital.

We keep intensifying the raid from day by day

 

The officers started down from Silang Barat Monas to ex-IRTI field. On that occasion, they managed to secure dozens of stalls such as tables, benches and two sacks containing merchandise belonging to street vendors in some places.

Wanted, Monas Street Vendor Coordinator, Satpol PP Says

 

"We keep intensifying the raid from day by day. Previously, we can secure merchandises belonging to street vendors using two to three trucks. No wonder, the existence of street vendors already begun to decline," said Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Maruli Sijabat, Tuesday (12/9) afternoon.

 

He added, in the short term, the raid will be carried out until the end of the year and is situational. "If the situation is conducive, the street vendors in Monas can certainly be reduced. But the security must also be tightened," he uttered.
