Raided by Satpol PP, Street Vendors Hid Their Goods

Hundreds of Jakarta Satpol PP personnel held control against illegal street vendors in Monas this morning, Friday (10/17). However, the street vendors already known Satpol PP’s arrival and some of them even hid their goods in safe places.

There are three trucks transporting street vendors’ goods which taken to Cakung, East Jakarta

One area that swept by Satpol PP was IRTI Monas yard. There, the officers found some street vendors’ goods that were hidden inside the water pump machine and directly picked up into the truck.

“We deploy 500 joint personnel from five areas. There are three trucks transporting street vendors’ goods which taken to Cakung, East Jakarta,” stated Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kukuh Hadi Santoso.

According to Santoso, this raid is a routine activity done to sterilize Monas area. Moreover, on Monday (10/20) group band Slank will perform to celebrate the president inauguration of Joko Widodo.

“After sweeping, Satpol PP personnel directly head back to City Hall for standby because there will be demonstration staged by masses from FPI,” he said.
