Ahead of Eid, People Flock to Cookware Production Center in Cawang Kompor

Entering the third week of Ramadan, people start to visit the cookware and bakeware production centers in Cawang Kompor, Jalan Dewi Sartika, East Jakarta.

They have good quality products and sell them at affordable price

Since the old times, the area had been known as a production center of cookware and bakeware such as stoves, ovens, pans, stockpots, and others.

Ajeng (35), a resident of Kampung Melayu admitted that she visited the market in Cawang Kompor because cookware and bakeware produced in this market had good quality at affordable prices.

"They have good quality products and sell them at affordable prices. I go to this place because shortly I want to sell Eid cookies," she conveyed, Wednesday (4/20).

One of the traders and craftsmen, Andri (43) explained that the market during this year's Ramadan was a bit busier than the previous two years. According to him, most people were looking for ovens, cake molds, and stockpots.

"Compared to two years ago, current sales have increased by around 15 percent. Two years ago, our business was sluggish due to COVID-19," he mentioned.

The cookware and bakeware products were sold at various prices, such as the price for a complete oven with baking sheets was Rp 260,000, and a stockpot with a diameter of 50 centimeters was sold from Rp 500,000 to 700,000.
