The Indonesia Army (TNI) gives beret and honorary brevet of Regional Partner to Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama. Embedding the beret and brevet is TNI General Commander Moeldoko.

According to Moeldoko, the doctrine of national defense system is the people’s defense. So, if Indonesia was invaded by foreign countries, the entire national resources (SDN) would paralyze.

“The owner of SDN is regional government. All facilities, infrastructures, equipment, fittings, and citizens’ condition, are all in governor’s hands. Thus, to draft this defense system, synergy and proactive are needed,” he stated after embedding the beret and brevet to Ahok at Army Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Friday (12/12).

Since Ahok has received the beret and brevet, from now on he can lead the ceremony in special occasions during military’s event.

“TNI gives reinforcement for the governor’s leadership. If needed anything, Ahok must not hesitate to ask a favor to me,” asserted Moeldoko.

Meanwhile, Ahok is thankful for the beret and brevet.

“For me, this is only luck,” he said while laughing.

In this event, Ahok wears TNI’s yellowish-green military jacket. He is also marching like soldiers during the beret and brevet embedding ceremony.
