Barito Pet Market Revitalization to Begin in Early May

The South Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small Medium Enterprise (PPKUKM) Sub-agency will start revitalizing Barito Pet Market, South Jakarta in early May 2022.

South Jakarta PPKUKM Sub-agency Head Dedy Dwi Widodo mentioned a winner had been determined in the auction for the Barito Pet Market revitalization project.

"Tender winner is ready to start renovation work on the market in early May," he mentioned, Friday (4/22).

According to him, it had been also socialized to 85 Barito Pet Market traders.

"Traders have approved to move to a temporary location (loksem) JS 25 during revitalization process," he added.

However, traders requested his side to give time to empty the market kiosks no later than May 9 or after Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

"They want to take advantage of Eid al-Fitr to sell in the market. We agreed to their request, so they will vacate the market a few days after the Eid holiday," he explained.

The project would take four months or 120 days to complete.

"During the work, traders are not allowed to sell on the sidewalks along Jalan Barito Raya," he asserted.

To smoothen it, his side would also coordinate with related agencies, such as City Park and Forestry Sub-agency, Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, Bina Marga Sub-agency, and Satpol PP.

"Building workers are asked not to throw debris into the Langsat Park area or in drains and not damage the existing sidewalk along Jalan Barito. We have asked Satpol PP to help monitor pet traders to prevent them from selling on the location during the project and help relocate their stuff to loksem," he conveyed.
