Travelers Start to Pack Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal

Travelers are seen starting to pack the Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, East Jakarta today, Friday (4/22). On weekdays, the number of passengers can reach between 300 to 350 people per day, but today it has reached 521 people or an increase of about 25 percent. At the end of the week, it is predicted the number of passengers will continue to increase until D-1 before Eid al-Fitr.

Predictably, passenger surges will occur on D-7 to D-1

Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal Head Yulza Ramadhoni said, today, the number of passengers departing reached 521 passengers using 115 buses. Many of them would go home to West Java, Central Java to Sumatra.

"Predictably, passenger surges will occur on D-7 to D-1. In the morning, most destinations are Sumatra. While in the afternoon, most passengers go home to West Java and Central Java," he said.

Currently, several bus operators PO have also started to increase ticket prices, especially for executive buses or VVIPs. It is predicted to continue until Eid al-Fitr. However, for economy buses, there is no fare increase as it is set by the government through the upper and lower limits.

"Starting on April 25 or next week, we'll also set up some posts for homecoming, healthcare, ramp check, and integrated security," he continued.

He explained that the Health Post would be set up to check the bus crews and passengers' health, including vaccination and antigen swab services initiated by Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes).

Devi (35), one of the passengers to Palembang admitted that she was going home early to avoid traffic jams in Sumatra or the Banten area considering the area she was going to was quite far away and he had to cross the ocean using a ferry.

"By going home early, I can stay at home longer," she concluded.
