1,000 Joint Personnel to Maintain Security in East Jakarta during Eid Holiday

Around 1,000 personnel from urban village to the city level have been prepared to secure the environment to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri holiday.

Today, East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar and East Jakarta Forkompimko checked the preparedness of personnel and equipment during the morning assembly held at East Jakarta Mayor's Office. Only 250 out of 1,000 personnel were gathered at the location due to the pandemic.

Joint personnel deployment was carried out to provide a sense of security and comfort for residents from before until after Eid al-Fitr.

"East Jakarta is a crossing area for travelers, so there is potential for crowds and traffic congestion. Therefore, we need to anticipate it by deploying personnel in the field," he explained.

He also instructed personnel on duty to monitor crime-prone locations and places where the pasar tumpah (spilled market) might appear to cause traffic congestion and crowds.

"Urban village and sub-district heads must remind their residents who are going home to unplug electric devices and LPG to anticipate fire," he mentioned.
