UMP 2015 DKI Berpotensi Naik

Ahok: 2015 UMP Remains Rp 2.7 Million

If the amount only increases 1.43 percent, how could it be Rp 3 million? At least it only reaches Rp 2.73 million or rounded up to Rp 2.75 million

Jakarta Provincial Government and Wage Council back to discuss the amount of the 2015 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) 2015. The discussion relates to inflation post-fuel hikes.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama asked the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to calculate inflation post-fuel hikes. After being calculated, the amount reached 1.43 percent and 2015 UMP becomes Rp 2.73 million where it is higher Rp 300 thousand than the UMP that has been set.

Recommendation for the 2015 UMP Submitted

"If the amount only increases 1.43 percent, how could it be Rp 3 million? At least it only reaches Rp 2.73 million or rounded up to Rp 2.75 million," he explained after explaining 2015 UMP along with Wage Council at City Hall, Tuesday (12/16).

Earlier, the workers demanded the 2015 UMP by Rp 3 million. One reason is due to fuel hikes that have not been included in the discussion.

Nevertheless, Ahok continued, he could not confirm whether the UMP will be changed or not. "It could go up, or may not, depending. If it is forced, we use economic growth. So we just focus on the provincial minimum wage (UMSP)," he explained.

Head of Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department, Priyono expressed such amount remained at Rp 2.7 million. It was deemed final because it refers to inflation after the increase in fuel hikes and in accordance with employers demand.

"This is final, because the governor regulation on UMP already issued. Its impact against inflation is also significant, we concentrate on the UMSP which is always higher than the UMP," he stated.
