Recommendation for the 2015 UMP Submitted

After going through long meetings, the Wage Council finally sets a recommendation on the amount of the 2015 Province Minimum Wage (UMP). The recommendation will be submitted to Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnamatoday, Friday (11/14).

There are two nominal agreed in the meeting

“There are two nominal agreed in the meeting. The first is Rp 2,693,764.40 which is the proposal from the government, and Rp 3,574,179.36 demanded by the labors. Both nominal will be submitted to Mr. Acting Jakarta Governor for recommendation material, at the latest on Friday morning,” stated Head of Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department, Priyono, Thursday (11/13).

According to Priyono, the decision on UMP amount is governor’s prerogative right. By submitting the recommendation, it is expected that the governor decree on the 2015 UMP amount could be signed today.

Meeting to Determine the 2015 UMP Continued Today

Meanwhile, Wage Council member from entrepreneur element, Sarman Simanjorang, hopes for the determination on UMP to consider various elements, including the continuity of business sector.

“We, the entrepreneurs, hope for Acting Jakarta Governor could determine the 2015 UMP wisely and not influenced with the pressures,” he said.
