Motorcycle Ban Applied, 5 Double-Decker Buses Yet Operated

The motorcycle ban regulation which begins today met a little problem due to five double decker buses from Tahir Foundation can not be operated yet. It is because the buses have not passed the type and feasibility test. Antonius Kosasih, PT Transportasi Jakarta President Director said so.

Therefore, the five buses must be stored at the depot until passed the feasibility test. As a temporary replacement of the fleet, there will be six singles TransJakarta bus deployed.

"Currently, we still processing the test with the transportation department (Dishub) Jakarta to meet all requirements so that the buses can be immediately operated," he continued.

Kosasih added, his side is ready to fully support this program which has same line with the preparation of a free bus transport services in the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) area.

"We are also ready to increase the bus number if the existing bus fleet is still lack," he added.

As reported, the city government received a donation of five double decker tourism buses from Tahir Foundation. The buses with yellow-orange base color have a passenger capacity of 50 people were symbolically handed over by Tahir Foundation founder, Dato Sri Tahir to the Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, in Silang Barat Daya Monas, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (12/10) ago.
