Retaining Wall in Kelapa Dua Wetan Built to Anticipate Landslides

Some 11 workers of the Ciracas Sub-district Water Resouces (SDA) Executing Unit Task Force, East Jakarta is building a retaining wall on Jalan Lengkeng, RT 08/02, Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village, which aims to prevent landslides.

It has been carried out since May 10 and is targeted to be finished in 40 days.

Ciracas Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Task Force Coordinator Deby said the retaining wall would have 30 meters long and 30 centimeters wide with 1.5 meters high.

"To prevent landslides optimally, we use river stones," he expressed, Wednesday (5/18).

According to him, the construction could be realized as the workers were previously focused on repairing retaining walls in other locations. Some were also draining the water channels due to a pile of mud.

"This is done manually," he concluded.
