North Jakarta Mayor Launches 'Mama is My Hero' Kiosk in Cilincing

North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim launched a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) program in the form of a kiosk named 'Mama is My Hero' at Cilincing Sub-district Office, on Thursday (5/19) which was attended by the Ambassador of Morocco to Indonesia Ouadian Benabdellah.
The products sold in thi s kiosk have a good quality, both in terms of appearance and cleanliness
In his remark, the Mayor said that the program was supported by Royal Moroccan Embassy to build and develop the creative economy and support creative economy products in Cilincing.
The 'Mama is My Hero' kiosk was created with the help of Richard Adam, a Moroccan entrepreneur who has lived in Indonesia for a long time and wants to help MSMEs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
MSME Products Showcased at MRT Ramadan Bazaar 2022He also mentioned that the beneficiaries of the 'Mama is My Hero' kiosk program were MSMEs from each urban village in Cilincing Sub-district. To be the beneficiary, they had to go through several stages of selection and training. Furthermore, the beneficiaries also received assistance in form of equipment and tools according to their abilities shown in the training.
"The products sold in this kiosk have a good quality, both in terms of appearance and cleanliness," he stated.
According to him, the program was planned to be developed in several locations in Cilincing Sub-district and tourist attractions in North Jakarta.
Moroccan Ambassador to Indonesia Ouadia Benabdellah conveyed that the 'Mama is My Hero' kiosk program is proof that a mother can support her family as a breadwinner.
"This idea comes from the heart and sense of humanity. It also strengthens cooperation between Indonesia and Morocco," he uttered.
Siti Wasilah (45), a resident of RT 07 RW 08 Cilincing Urban Village felt proud and touched at the same time since she got an opportunity to open a business using the kiosk at the sub-district office. Previously, she could only sell her cooking if there was an order.
"Thank God, I passed the selection and got a kiosk to sell tongseng kambing (Central Javanese lamb stew) and sate ayam (chicken satay) in the sub-district office area," she admitted.
