South Jakarta Mayor Munjirin, inaugurated the grand opening of Aeon Mall Tanjung Barat, Pasar Minggu Sub-district, on Friday (5/20).

On that occasion, the inauguration of this shopping center was aimed at boosting the economy amid the Covid-19 pandemic, as it is a meeting place for various business actors and visitors and can accommodate the products of business actors under the Jakarta administration.

"The products sold have passed the selection and curation stages as well as have been marketed in the marketplace through the Jumat Beli Lokal program," he expressed.

He appreciated the manager of Aeon Mall Tanjung Barat who had implemented waste sorting by encouraging 6R efforts (rethink, reduce, reuse, recycle, repair, and returnable).

"Waste management in the shopping center area aims to create a community that cares about recycling. "Since it was opened, the caretaker has tried to recycle 100 percent of the waste from cans, glass bottles, and plastic bottles," he explained.

Of course, he added waste from visitors becomes a resource that can be reused.

"The mall also participates in the waste sorting program by spreading empathy towards recycling to the public," he closed.
