A mother and her son died in fire which occurred at Jalan Angke Raya, Angke Urban Village, Tambora Sub-District, West Jakarta, Friday (12/19). In the incident, fire that occurred in a densely populated area has burned at least 37 homes.
Before the incident, the victims who are identified as Yati (40) and Teguh (5) were sleeping. Unluckily, they could not save their life when the flames grew up.
Fire Razes 30 Houses in Tambora"The victims were found dead in the bathroom. They have been rushed to the hospital for an autopsy," said Head of Operational Section, West Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Abdul Wahid.
Wahid explained fire broke out at around 4 AM. Allegedly, it is caused gas tube explosion from one of citizen homes. To put out the flames, as many as 23 fire trucks deployed to the scene and managed to be controlled two hours later. "The material loss is still calculated," he expressed.
