Police to Secure Christmas and New Year Celebration

Approaching Christmas and New Year’s Eve, Metro Jaya Police will deploy 11,829 police personnel to keep citizens safe and comfortable during the celebration. Meanwhile, the police will strengthen the secure at some points such as churches, tourist attraction, and some crowd place which will become the mass assembly point.

"There are 309 churches which become our special attention. It’s included the 12 churches which have problem throughout our jurisdiction," said Public Relation Head of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Rikwanto, Tuesday (12/23).
As many as 3,947 police personnel will be deployed to secure Christmas. "To secure the Christmas and New Year’s Eve in Operasi Lilin we will alert 3,947 Metro Jaya police," he added.

While in New Year’s Eve, Rikwanto added, his side will deploy 11 thousands personnel, because the guard not only hold at worship place and tourist attraction, but also at some mass crowd points which need extra guard.
Some tourist attraction which become the security focus such as, Ancol, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Kota Tua, Monas, and Bundaran Hi. "It is confirmed the mass will pack the area because they will take holiday on January 1," he said.
The security will also hold at Jakarta Night Festival (JNF) area that will hold at New Year’s Eve. "Jakarta Provincial Government still holds JNF from Bundaran HI to Monas. About 13 stages are prepared by City Government for music performance, dances, keroncong, jazz, and other performance. There will hold fireworks show at Monas and Ancol," he uttered.
