Manggarai Station Pursues Seamless Public Transit Integration

The Jakarta Transportation Agency or Dishub is set to optimize the function of the Manggarai Train Station, Tebet, South Jakarta, starting from spatial planning and integration between other public transportation modes.

Some accesses will be improved

It is related to the making of the Manggarai Station as a central station connecting train lines.

Dishub Head Syafrin Liputo expressed that the station would integrate intermodal and the surrounding spatial layout.

"Some accesses will be improved, including the addition of services, which of course is in line with changes in operational patterns executed by PT KAI," he expressed, Wednesday (6/8).

Specifically for Transjakarta services, from the station would be adjusted to the train services later.

"Once it is established, the intercity interprovincial long-distance train service will have an access to the station. We'll support with services for Transjakarta," he continued.

By doing so, the Manggarai Bus Terminal could be a bus parking lot, especially during rush hour to avoid bus buildup around the station. Residents could also directly walk to the terminal which was not far from the station.

"Currently, the terminal already exists and its functions will be optimized," he closed.
