Tebet Eco Park Visitors Urged to Take Public Transportation

Residents are advised to use public transportation instead of driving private motor vehicles when visiting the Tebet Eco Park, South Jakarta.

Most people visit this park by bringing private motor vehicles that cause overcrowding around the parking area

South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency (Sudinhub) Head Susilo conveyed that the large number of people visiting the Tebet Eco Park, especially on weekends and holidays, caused a density of motor vehicles around the park.

"Most people visit this park by bringing private motor vehicles that cause overcrowding around the parking area," he said, in a discussion held by the South Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (Kominfotik) Sub-agency, Tuesday (5/31).

Therefore, residents who would visit the park were urged to use public transportation facilities, such as the Transjakarta bus and electric train (KRL).

"To go to the park, they can take the Transjakarta bus and get off at Tebet BUMN Bus Stop which is about 300 meters away, or Cawang Station which is 500 meters away from the location," he explained.

His side also cooperated with various parties to provide parking spaces for visitors.

"There are a total of 10 parking lots, including one inside the park that can accommodate hundreds of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles," he mentioned.

However, the parking facilities at 10 points scattered around Tebet Eco Park were not enough to accommodate cars and motorbikes brought by visitors, especially on the weekends and holidays.

"That's why we always remind residents who want to go to the park to take public transportation," he stated.
