He conveyed that the Jakarta Government fully supported the Patuh Jaya Operation. Therefore, he needed cooperation from all Jakarta residents to be orderly and disciplined in driving to improve traffic compliance.
"On behalf of the Government, we are grateful that the Indonesian National Police, Polda Metro Jaya, continue to show their commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens through various programs. One of which is today's Patuh Jaya Operation Assembly. The most important thing for us to be aware of is the high death rate from road traffic accidents. Thus, we ask all residents to be careful," he said when giving a press statement, quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

"(For motorists to) make sure to wear safety equipment properly when driving, such as helmets, jackets, shoes, and so on, obey all traffic rules, and take care of your health. Those are very important to be applied every day, so there will be no fatalities," he explained.
Meanwhile, the National Traffic Police (Korlantas) Chief Inspector General of Police Firman Santyabudi who joined and led the Patuh Jaya Operation Troop Assembly, explained that the operation aimed to increase public compliance with traffic. The operation did not focus on stationary operations on the roads, but on providing a sympathetic warning.
"Korlantas focuses on operations with aim of building traffic compliance in terms of public awareness, not just because we are police (or), because there are many raids, and so on. We want to make people grow within themselves, thus they become 'police' for themselves. This traffic compliance must become a habit by building it through awareness," he stated.
Polda Metro Jaya had prepared 3.070 personnel throughout Indonesia to be deployed in this operation. Korlantas itself prepared 350 personnel to strengthen the ranks by 30%. The main purpose of the operation was to provide protection and public service. Thus officers didn't seem to find fault with the community. He hoped the post-operation could reduce the number of traffic accidents.
"The results will be evaluated in each rank, such as to know the certain types of violations that cause traffic jams. The operation will be handed over to the respective regional task forces, and the
Regional Police and Resort Police will focus on sympathetic warnings to the community. To all ranks, this operation focuses on educational and preventive activities," he explained. For information, the Patuh Jaya Operation will take place simultaneously in all regencies and cities throughout Indonesia. It is a centralized police operation from Polda Metro Jaya which has 8 prioritized operational targets.
It is scheduled to last for 14 days, from June 13 to 26, 2022. In its implementation, the police will not issue manual ticketing for violators. The operating mechanism is carried out in two ways, namely ticketing and reprimands.
Ticketing itself will be not carried out by officers but through an electronic ticket or Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE).
