Jakarta Council (DPRD) Commission B Chairperson Ismail encourages the use of electric-based vehicles for Mikrotrans which is also a part of JakLingko integrated transportation.
Through collaborative work, we are expecting a scheme or formulation that can ease operators in providing electric fleets
He assessed that electric vehicles will become a necessity in the future. Therefore, all operators related to JakLingko must be prepared.
"Surely, the regulations must be prepared first. However, this discourse must be understood by operators," he said at Jakarta DPRD Building, Monday (6/27).

ic vehicle procurement, operators could collaborate with related agencies and banking sectors."Through collaborative work, we are expecting a scheme or formulation that can ease operators in providing electric fleets," he mentioned.
The legislative body, especially Commission B had shown its concern regarding the need for government subsidies in the procurement of electric fleets for Mikrotrans.
"We all know that electric vehicles are still quite expensive. Of course, we will discuss the subsidy with the Jakarta Government through relevant agencies. When we are talking about electric vehicle regulation implementation in public transportation, we must also consider the subsidy aspect in the provision of transportation modes," he explained.
According to him, the use of electric vehicles was also needed to improve air quality in Jakarta, because it was very important in achieving zero-emission.
"Public transportation is still associated with being the biggest contributor to air pollution. In addition to Transjakarta electric bus, I hope there will be also a pilot of electric Mikrotrans fleet,"
He reminded that providing electric public vehicles should be accompanied by preparing the supporting facilities.
"Besides, the Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) should be added thus electric vehicles have no difficulty in charging. The Government needs to establish intense communication with PT. PLN regarding the need," he closed.
