BPBD Warns of Tidal Floods in Coastal Areas of Jakarta

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has warned of potential tidal flooding in the coastal areas of Jakarta over the next few days.

Residents must be aware of the maximum tidal height which can potentially cause tidal flooding

Therefore, the coastal areas of Jakarta that should be aware of this natural phenomenon include Pademangan, Penjaringan, Sunda Kelapa Marunda Port, and Seribu Islands.

Jakarta BPBD Head Isnawa Adji disclosed that based on the Tanjung Priok Maritime BMKG Press Release regarding the Warning of Potential Coastal Floods (ROB) from July 8 to 17, 2022, the earth is currently entering the full moon phase which coincides with Perigee (closest distance from the moon to earth), so it has the potential to cause an increase in tidal heights. maximum sea.
