8 Tons of Trashes Transported from Baru River

Jakarta Cleanliness Department continues to cleaning the river from trash pile. One of the cleaning locations is the Baru River that is located on Jalan Raya Bogor, East Jakarta.

If the river is dirty, the water flow is usually clogged by the trash while the rain comes

As the cleaning result, the 8 tons of trash was successfully transported by the cleanliness officers. Most of the trash contains of home waste, plastic, wood, and bamboo.

Furthermore, the waste was transported to Bantar Gebang, Bekasi by dump trucks. As many as 24 Janitor were divided into four teams.

Illegal Building Control Start Gives Positive Impact

"We deployed four teams to three points at Baru River location, Ciracas Sub-district, Pasar Rebo and Kramatjati," said Dicky, Chief Cleanliness Officer Team I Jakarta, Tuesday (1/6).

Dicky explained, besides cleaning up trash at the river, his side also cleaned shrubs and pruned trees at the riverside to create the environment neat and orderly.

Contacted separately, Executive Head Unit of UPK Water Board and Parks Department of Jakarta Cleanliness, Mumuh Mulyana said, the cleaning trash activity is a routine agenda that aims to smooth the water flow.

"If the river is dirty, the water flow is usually clogged by the trash while the rain comes. So we did this clean up activity," said Mulyana.
