In the upcoming 2018, Jakarta will host Asian Games XVIII. In order to support the event, Jakarta Provincial Government starts preparing all facilities. One of facilities being prepared is athlete guesthouse in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

The guesthouse will be built above 11 ha of land. "It will be equipped with aquatic venue," said Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Thursday (1/8).
In addition, he added, the city government will renovate Velodrome sport arena in East Jakarta by 2016 to meet the international standard.

"We're going to provide light rail from Tangerang to Pluit Reservoir, Kota Tua, Ancol, Kemayoran, Sunter, Kelapa Gading, up to Bekasi. It will be coordinated with private parties to get maximum building space," he added.
He hoped the preparation could be done in a year before the event or in 2017.
