Balkoters Gathering Media Strengthens Friendship

The Jakarta City Hall and DPRD Coordinator Journalists held the 2022 Balkoters Gathering with the theme "Balkoters Collaboration towards a Global City of Jakarta".

The gathering that held at Ancol Jimbaran Resto, North Jakarta yesterday was also attended by Jakarta Vice Governor Ahmad Riza "Ariza" Patria.

He appreciated the work of the journalists, as they also played a role in encouraging the ranks of the Jakarta administration to respond quickly and be thorough in conveying information.

"The information and news shared is very important in the development process. So, I think your role as a media journalist is extraordinary. I can't imagine this nation without you and the media," he expressed, Sunday (7/31).

He urged them to continue a good and noble task, to participate, and synergize.

"Never hesitate to submit criticism, input, recommendations, and continue to pursue various development progress. That way, we will quickly respond better and faster," he explained.

While on duty, he explained, they should also pay attention to family because in the end family is everything.

"I know you work late into the night, chasing, writing, and presenting the news. "Hope you don't forget your family, husband or wife. That's something important," he stressed.

He then suggested that in the future there could also be a gathering attended by the families of the journalists.

"I think this is a good thing. Everything is meaningless without the role of family," he added.

Jakarta City Hall and DPRD Coordinator Head for Journalists Sammy Edward Watimena uttered that the gathering was held to strengthen intimacy and togetherness.

"We want to strengthen the fellowship among journalists who cover the Jakarta City Hall and DPRD. That's why the activity like this is very important to know each other," he stated.

He hoped that the cohesiveness and togetherness could be maintained by all journalists, even though they are different in age and media.

"Even though we work for different media, we live the same profession. I want everyone to be friends and family who care for each other," he said.
