The Jakarta Women's Empowerment, Family Planning, and Child Protection Agency (PPAPP) collaborates to prevent and combat acts of violence, as well as sexual harassment in transportation modes in Jakarta.
Hopefully, we can realize it all this year
One of the efforts is realized by providing women and children friends posts (SAPA) in all terminals managed by the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub).
Insider Transport Route Division Head Afrinda Triwardani expressed the SAPA posts in all terminals are following the Dishub Circular Letter number e-0028/2022 on Provision of Services in the Context of Prevention and Handling of Violence against Women and Children on Public Transport Services in Jakarta.
PPAPP Agency Optimizes SAPA Post Officers in Transportation ModeThe SAPA Post service would be prioritized at five Type A terminals such as Pulogebang, Kampung Rambutan, Kalideres, and Tanjung Priok terminals.
"We also plan to implement it at Type B terminals such as Grogol, Ragunan, and Pasar Minggu terminals. Hopefully, we can realize it all this year," she stated, Thursday (8/11).
To support it, her party was working with the PPAPP Agency to provide training or technical guidance (bimtek) to Dishub officers, especially those on duty at the terminal.
The training included mechanisms and simulations for handling acts of violence and sexual harassment against women and children in transportation modes, especially in terminals.
With the knowledge given, officers would be given the knowledge to help prevent and report acts of violence on public transport and protect victims.
"It also aims to equalize SOPs on how to overcome them and the flow of reporting," she explained.
Aside that, her party would put a sticker containing information on the Jakarta Siaga (Jakarta Standby) on 112, the Hotline number 0813 1761 7622 for the Women and Children Empowerment Center (P2TP2A), including the operator's complaint service number.
It was intended that passengers or service users can easily report acts of violence and sexual harassment to women and children
“We very welcome the existence of the SAPA Post and the strengthening of Dishub officers. This is a form of synergy to combat acts of violence and sexual harassment against women and children," she closed.
