S.I.A.P QRIS Launching, City Supports the Expansion of Digital-Based Trade

Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria attended the Launching of the S.I.A.P Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) Program at Sarinah Building, Central Jakarta, on Friday (8/19).

Hopefully, this program can be accepted and applied by all MSMEs, either in Jakarta or other cities in Indonesia

He revealed that the Jakarta administration fully supports the expansion of digital-based trade including S.I.A.P QRIS.

"Congratulations on launching the S.I.A.P QRIS Sarinah program. Hopefully, this program can be accepted and applied by all MSMEs, either in Jakarta or other cities in Indonesia," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

Bank DKI Keeps Accelerating Digital Service Transformation in MSME Sector

Bank DKI as one of Jakarta's BUMD plays an active role in supporting Bank Indonesia's S.I.A.P QRIS initiative for payment transactions using QRIS which can be used in markets, grocery stores spread to remote villages, and housing.

"Equality in using QRIS can also be enjoyed by all residents of Jakarta, one of which is JakOne Pay electronic money and the JakOne Mobile application from Bank DKI. Hope it can discipline payment methods and accelerate the transformation of the digital economy in Indonesia," he explained.

He also hoped that the collaboration between the administration with Bank Indonesia and stakeholders could be improved in the future for post-pandemic recovery in all sectors of life, especially the economic sector.

"The main source of growth is household consumption in line with increasing community mobility, which is supported by increasingly controlled cases of Covid-19 and accelerated vaccination in Jakarta. This condition will gradually drive people's economic activities and increase domestic demand," he explained.

He went on to say that the use of QRIS is very effective and easy. Especially as a payment method, it is following the spirit of enforcing health protocols that prioritize hygiene, efficiency, and minimal contact; as well as a form of discipline for safe payment methods. It was urgently needed by business actors amid the pandemic, including MSMEs in Jakarta.

Even, the pandemic was also momentum to keep moving people's economic activities amid social restrictions through a digital economic transformation in various aspects, including the MSME sector. Thereby, the administration would continue to encourage the acceptance of digital payments to MSMEs through the Jakpreneur QRIS program.

"Amid the public activity restrictions, business actors are required to keep up with the times, including through online marketing on the marketplace platform, preparing financial reporting to digital payments," he added.

So, with QRIS Jakprenuer, his party could monitor the development of MSMEs, either per event (such as in Formula E and so on) or long term. By so, the city could determine policies that are right on target according to the needs of MSMEs.

"Acceptance of digital payments is also strengthened through the Regional Digitization Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD) by expanding digital payment channels for local government transaction services, such as payment of taxes, user fees, and the application of digital payment QRIS to the existing Mobility as a Service (MaaS), namely JakLingko," he closed.

On the same occasion, Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo prompted all residents to smoothen the 'Bangga Buatan Indonesia' Movement (proud of made in Indonesia) by shopping or making buying and selling transactions using QRIS. Moreover, QRIS Indonesia would be connected to Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines.
