Collapsed Waterway on Jalan Utan Kayu Selatan Repaired

Due to it is often impassable by heavy vehicles, a waterway located at Utan Kayu Selatan, Matraman, East Jakarta, collapsed. To prevent unwanted things, some workers began to repair the waterway, and cannot yet be passed temporarily.

Head of Maintenance Section for East Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department, Kuryatna disclosed the collapse waterway had to be demolished totally due to the eastern part of the waterway collapsed after being passed by heavy vehicles.

"The waterway is always passed by heavy vehicles, like trucks carrying cement and sand materials, and then collapsed. That is why we repair it totally," he expressed, Wednesday (1/21).

He continued, such repair will take 3-4 days. Moreover, the concrete castings mounted as a drag on the left and right side of waterway should be dried first for a week to make it stronger and can be crossed by heavy vehicles.

"The repair is using the unpredictable 2015 City Budget (APBD)," he disclosed.
