Heavy Rain, Some Roads in 5 Municipalities Inundated

Heavy rain in Jakarta since yesterday morning has led to some roads in five municipalities inundated.

Since 11 AM yesterday, the water inundated road around 10-20 cm at Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta

Based on Operation Command Center (Pusdalops) of Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head, Sutarman, the inundated roads were located in Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and East Jakarta. "Since 11 AM yesterday, the water inundated road around 10-20 cm at Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta," he said, Thursday (1/22).

He added, the flood also occured on Jalan Percetakan Negara II, Johar baru, Central Jakarta between 30 to 50 cm. In North Jakarta, the puddle around 20 cm also appeared on Jalan RE Martadinata in front of Alexis. "Jalan Ahmad Yani, North Jakarta precisely in front of Pertamina also inundated around 40 cm," he added.

Flood, Main Roads in Kelapagading Impassable

Sutarman continued, the 20 cm water inundated the area on Jalan Boulevard Barat, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. Meanwhile the same conditions also occured on Jalan Yos Sudarso around 40 cm.

In West Jakarta, Sutarman stated, 10 to 20 cm water inundated Jalan Lodan, Kota. Meanwhile in East Jakarta, the 10 to 20 cm puddle seen on Jalan Pulomas Barat VI, Kayu Putih.

He revealed, besides the flood, some sluice gates water level also increased. One of the sluice gates is Depok sluice gate that reached 220 cm or has Alert 3 status. "The area that will be affected by the water level increase of Depok sluice gate are Rawajati, Pengadengan, Cawang, Kebon Baru, Bukit Duri, Budara Cina, and Kampung Melayu," he explained.
