Djarot: Don't Make Difficult the Flood Victims

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat held blusukan (impromptu visit) to Bukit Duri Urban Village, Tebet Sub-District, South Jakarta. In this visit, Djarot wanted to make sure the readiness of the officers to anticipate flood.

Djarot's arrival was welcomed by the Head of Bukit Duri Urban Village, Mardi Youce. Djarot asked Mr. Mardi to visit the citizens settlement that affected by flood. He preferred to use motorcycle to go around 300 meters from the urban village office to the location.
"Let’s go sir, we will use motorcycle, I'll ride," said Djarot, in sideline of his visit to Bukit Duri Urban Village, Thursday (1/22).

During his visit, Djarot also gave advice to all sub-district and urban village heads to always facilitate the flood victim, he also threatened the leader to give punishment if they make difficult the flood victim.

It should be integrated, but don't you dare to make difficult the flood victims if they want to evacuate, as you ask their domicile, ask the ID card, I can hanging you up if you do that," said Djarot.Tebet Sub-District Head, Mahludi admitted the flood management to always integrate with other related parties and agencies. "As the flood victims in Manggarai, they prefer to evacuate to Kampung Pulo, while the Kampung Pulo citizens are usually evacuate to Tebet.
