BPBD: Inundation in Jakarta Has Reduced Significantly

inundation occurred only 0.151 percent out of the 30,470 neighborhoods in Jakarta

Rain with moderate to heavy intensity that hit most regions of Jakarta and upstream caused inundation and flooding.

Based on data from the Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), until Friday (10/7) at around 3 AM, the inundation had receded.

Jakarta BPBD's Disaster Information and Data Center Head, Miohammad Insaf said that previously the rainwater inundated four roads and 93 neighorhoods and now only leaving two roads and 46 neighborhoods.

"Based on the data, inundation occurred only 0.151 percent out of the 30,470 neighborhoods in Jakarta," he expressed in a written statement.

Here are details of neighborhoods and roads inundated in South, Central, and West Jakarta:

1. South Jakarta

- Of 79 neighborhoods, it is only 31 inundated, consisting of one neighborhood in Cilandak Barat Urban Village, one neighborhood in Rawa Barat Urban Village, 10 neighborhoods in Tegal Parang Urban Village, and three neighborhoods in Pela Mamang Urban Village, 13 neighborhoods in Kuningan Barat Urban Village, one neighborhood in Mampang Prapatan Urban Village, and two neighborhoods in Ulujami Urban Village.

- Some roads are inundated, namely Jalan Komplek Polri in Karet Semanggi Urban Village and Jalan Wijaya Timur Jaya, Petogogan Urban Village

2. West Jakarta

- Three neighborhoods in Kembangan Selatan Urban Village, one neighborhood in Meruya Utara Urban Village, four neighborhoods in Kedoya Selatan Urban Village, and three neighborhoods in Kebon Jeruk Urban Village

3. Central Jakarta

- Four neighborhoods in Bendungan Hilir Urban Village

"The agency deploys personnel to monitor the current condition in each region and keep coordinating with related OPDs for flood management. We try to recede inundation quickly," he explained.

He called on the public to be careful and aware of the potential for inundation that occurs considering that it is currently entering the rainy season.

"Call 112 for emergency services. This is free and operates 24 hours non-stop," he said.
