MRT Continues to Replace Trees Affected by Phase 2A Construction Project

Construction of 202 (CP202) MRT Jakarta Phase 2A has been started since July 27, 2022, and is currently in the preparation stage.

The replacement tree planting area is being carried out in stages

One of the ongoing construction preparation works is handling trees affected by the construction of Harmoni Station, Sawah Besar Station, and Mangga Besar Station.

PT MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head, Rendi Alhial said as many as 1,531 out of 5,170 replacement trees had been replanted to replace 517 trees affected by the construction of the Harmon-Mangga Besar Station.

"The replacement tree planting area is being carried out in stages and has been determined by Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency in Kebun Bibit area, Srengseng Sawah, South Jakarta," he expressed, Tuesday (10/11).

He revealed that around 32 out of 33 trees had been relocated. Both planting replacement trees and relocation of trees were executed at the same time and complied with regulations.

Every tree that is replaced and relocated will be cared for and maintained following applicable regulations in order to meet the responsibility of sustainable environmental conservation.

"Moreover, PT MRT Jakarta also continues to coordinate routinely with Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency during tree planting," he stated.

As for the information, CP202 is one of the parts of the MRT Jakarta Phase 2A construction work with coverage of Harmoni Station, Sawah Besar Station, and Mangga Besar Station, as well as underground tunnels from Harmoni to Mangga Besar for 1.8 kilometers.
